Probably our most popular RED camellia, 'Greensboro Red' produces hundreds of semi-double RED flowers in early spring, generally after our last frost. The original plant came from England in the early 1800's and was such a favorite in Greensboro, NC, that it was named the "City Flower". 'Greensboro Red' can also be a good choice to "espallier." These can be maintained to shape with once yearly pruning or transitioned to a larger structure as it outgrows its current form.
