Kaffir Lime

While ‘Kaffir’ Lime does produce small, bright green limes, this citrus is prized for it's foliage. Considered an essential ingredient for flavoring many Asian and Thai dishes, the uniquely shaped leaves of ‘Kaffir’ Lime can be used fresh off the tree or picked and dried. While NOT COLD-HARDY in our area, plants are easy to over-winter by simply moving them indoors before frost in the late fall. Move back outdoors after last frost in the spring to ensure flowering and fruit production. Give adequate drainage and plants are prone to root rot.
