Legacy Sugar Maple

This hybrid sugar maple is a majestic shade tree grown for its awesome brilliant yellow leaves in fall and for its faster growth rate than seedling sugar maples. Mike Dirr says 'Legacy' is the best sugar maple for the South, where our heat and humidity sometimes cause seedling sugar maples to suffer "leaf tatter" in summer. Sugar maples typically have BRIGHT-YELLOW fall color while hybrid red maples ('Autumn Blaze', 'October Glory' ) typically have red and orange fall color.
