Okame Cherry

Okame' is the VERY EARLIEST Cherry to flower in our area - Great profusions of delicate, CARMINE-PINK flowers in late February, right before leaves emerge in mid-March. Mike Dirr writes that 'Okame' flowers are the most handsome of all the ornamental cherries. Shiny, reddish-brown bark is beautiful year-round and leaves turn a gorgeous bronze to orange-red before dropping for winter.
