If you have the IC-2820 or ID-880 you would attach the 1/4 X 20 to the metal bracket that comes with both Icom transceivers. The metal bracket has a hole that is threaded to accept a 1/4 x 20 stud. If you have the IC-706 you will need the Icom optional remote head bracket, MB-63.
