1909-P Plain : Lincoln 1c : AU
The first year of issue for Lincoln cents, this particular coin was minted after the first week of production. Chief engraver Charles Barber instructed the VDB initials be removed from the reverse design of the coin. All Lincoln cents minted after the first week of August are of this design making them more plentiful than those with the VDB initials on the reverse.Because this item is of an issue and condition for which a general stock image is prudent, that is what is shown here. The exact coin you will receive in ordering this item will vary somewhat from what you see here, but it will still be of equal or nicer quality and grade as the item you see in the images here.AU or About Uncirculated indicates that all of the original detail is intact on a coin save the very highest points where a touch of wear will be visible.
