Stop & Jot to Show Reading Comprehension & Thinking Minilessons--Reading Toolkit

Stop and Jot to Show Reading Thinking contains two minilessons to include when launching Readers Workshop. What is included: One lesson introduces how to stop and jot while listening to the conversation with a text in your head while you read. The second lesson analyzes the types of thinking a reader does while reading. It breaks down the types of thinking that deepen understanding of text and the thinking that does NOT deepen understanding of text. Also included are think sheets for students to collect their thinking about a text. These think sheets can be easily collected for the teacher to analyze and collect information to inform future instruction and conferring points.
