Let’s Read Together: A Read-Aloud Workshop for Parents and Guardians ~ with Shanna Alexander

Do you want to instill the love of reading in your child and engage them with stories? Tired of seeing their eyes glaze over when they aren't in front of a screen? In this workshop, expert Shanna Alexander will show you the tools you need to perform “Readers Theater”. You will learn how to inflect your voice and make it sound natural, how to build tension, and how to keep your child engaged while reading. Have a children's book handy, so we can practice together. *For parents and guardians of children age 10 and under.   Shanna Alexander holds a Masters in Library and Information Science, in addition to a Bachelors in English Secondary Education. She has plenty of experience reading aloud to a wide range of children during her time at the library. Shanna has two small children of her own, and during quarantine she started reading aloud to her girls even more. Initially, they used to resist having their electronics taken away, but now they beg for one more book at bedtime!
