Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge, Massachusetts, was founded in 1831 and is the first "rural" or "garden" style cemetery in the United States. It became the blueprint for cemeteries such as Laurel Hill in Philadelphia and Mount Hope in Bangor, Maine. We were lucky enough to visit Mount Auburn a few years ago, and were mesmerized by its gentle paths and the abundance of plants we saw. We wanted to stay forever, but apparently that's only allowed once you're dead, so we came up with this scent homage instead.
