Flames of War: Soviet BA-64 Armoured Car Platoon (Late-War)

The BA-64 armoured car (Broneavtomobil) was based upon the GAZ-64 jeep. It was fitted with an armoured body with sloped armour and was influenced by the German Sd Kfz 221 design. It could climb 30° slopes (18° in wet conditions) and cross a 900mm deep ford.  It was armed with a turret-mounted 7.62mm DT machine gun. A crew of two operated the vehicle. As well as its sloped armour the survivability of the BA-64 was increased by the use bullet-proof tyres. About 3,500 BA-64s were built during World War Two.
