25/02/01-02 Introduction to Filigree (DAYS 1 &2) - VIDEO ONLY

RECORDED Saturday-Sunday, February 1 & 2, 2025(6 hours of instruction)  Instructor: Jennifer Stenhouse The beautiful and delicate art of filigree has been practiced around the world for millennia. It is a lace-like patterning created by constructing a silver or gold frame filled with finely twisted and flattened wires. During this class, we will practice basic soldering skills, learn new soldering techniques, and jewelry craftsmanship through demos & exercises that are designed to introduce new skills, increase your knowledge about filigree, as well as, give you tips and tools that will make soldering simple with a variety of solders. The focus of the exercises will be on filigree construction. We will begin with the basics of the frame with sterling, making consistent fill with fine silver, then putting the frames and fill together. Then we will work on forming the filigree by doming and working on a ring. Level: Intermediate with soldering skills All classes include the video
