We will cover both chemical and electro-etching in this information-packed class, going over setting up for the different types of etching and recipes for the baths for etching silver, copper (inc. copper alloys like nickel silver and brass), and steel. For electro-etching, you will also learn how you can make your own inexpensive power supply from a re-purposed phone/other appliance charger. Other power supply options will also be discussed, and you will learn to SAFELY set up and manage your electro-etching. Designs for the etching resist can be printed on Press and Peel Blue paper using most regular laser printers or photocopiers, or you can use vinyl stickers, nail polish, paint pens, etc. Demonstrations will include transferring laser printer designs to a metal sheet using PnP Blue paper, mixing chemicals, setting up both chemical and
