Sitting Pretty Siblings
I have no idea whether Lenny and Jenny were actually biological siblings. Their looks and their personalities pointed to a biological link. So did the timing of their arrival in the LKG home - then arrived at the same time, already possessing their rhyming monikers. We tried all the recommended methods of socializing feral kittens who enter rescue a little later than most. We don't know how many generations of life on the streets were their family trees. What I can tell you is that was uphill. They were definitely not fans of humans - particularly me, as I was the one trying to touch or hold them. Hissing and whapping at me was their standard response. Eventually, Jenny came around. One Sunday night she came over to me on the couch and rubbed on my hand - seemingly asking for attention. I gave in and tried petting her. That didn't last too long - soon she was nipping at me and grabbing at my arm. I took the resulting scratches as a badge of honor. Jenny was trying to overcome her fear
