Exploit a simple vulnerability to easily open many padlocks. Comb picks exploit a very simple vulnerability in some padlocks, trailer hitch locks, and solid body padlocks. The technique is simple, and the comb pick both picks the lock and turns it to open it. Basically, some pin tumbler locks allow you to push entire pin stacks completely out of the shear line, meaning there's nothing obstructing the plug from turning. Comb picks, when lined up, allow you to move the pin stacks above the shear line. Then, turn the comb pick to open the lock! Though you can pick pin tumbler locks with these, not all locks are vulnerable to this technique. But when they are, the comb picks work as fast as a key.
