Beginning Rigid Heddle Weaving - April 30 -May 1st
Skill level: Beginner (no prior experience necessary) Cost: $70 Where: LoftyFiber, 415 E 1st Avenue, Easley SC 29640. Learn to warp and weave on a rigid heddle loom. You will set up the loom for weaving using the direct warping method. The project will be a small towel woven with Lofty Cotton Pillow Soft Organic cotton in two colors of your choice. Materials are included; choose your own colors at the start of the class. If you plan to bring your own rigid heddle loom, be sure to bring an 8 or 7.5-dent reed. No prior weaving experience is necessary. Class size limited to 2 students. Class starts at 10am Thursday. Breaks may be taken as needed. Some students may be able to finish the towel in one day, but a second full day is available if needed. Requirements: Must be up to physical challenges. Weaving is a physical activity and involves standing for periods, sitting, bending and reaching. Ages 13 and over - minors must be accompanied at all times by a guardian.
