Class Description:   God has made Himself known to use through the Bible. In the Scriptures, He also reveals the history of redemption, making known to us all that is necessary for His glory and our salvation, faith, and life. This course covers the entirety of Scripture, reading most of the books of the Bible throughout the year. Special attention is given to the literary genres comprising the Bible with an emphasis on the historical, political, philosophical, along with the geographical and cultural contexts of these writings. Course Objectives At the end of this course, the student will be able to: Identify the basic information (author, date, genre, etc.) for each biblical book Order the books of the Bible chronologically Design a map of one region covered in the biblical narrative Articulate the sweep of redemptive history from Genesis to Revelation Write an exegetical paper drawing from an Old Testament and a New Testament passage Credits: 1 (Elective), Non-honor
