Threatened species is a gorgeous forest giant to 300 feet tall, 10-20' trunk diameter, & bark up to 20" thick. Grey-green foliage and oval 2 - 3" cones. Rare, in only a few scattered groves in the Sierra Nevada. Extremely cold hardy to -10°F.Grows 2 - 3 feet a year when young, and lives 1500 years.
