This linen lace trim is based on the needle lace from the third, fifteenth-century bra found in the Lengberg castle vault in eastern Austria. The original is a narrow strip of lace between the front and shoulder strap of the bra. The designer added the garter sawtooth border to allow this trim to be attached as a border on table linens, cloth, or garments. One selvedge stitch was added on the right side.
