Zincovschi was closely associated with Soviet Impressionism after World War II ended and his country became a socialist republic. Born on January 25, 1912, in Balti, Republic of Moldova, Zincovschi pursued his artistic education at the renowned Academy of Fine Arts in Iaşi, Romania, specializing in decorative arts and graduating in 1936. The Soviet Impressionism style (also known as Russian Impressionism) emerged in the Soviet Union during the mid-20th century, resulting from the collections of French Impressionists that national museums began to acquire and display.
