Lost Lantern hand-selected this cask from Backwards Distilling in Mills, WY. A family-run distillery with a flair for the theatrical, Backwards is known for its bold, boundary-pushing approach to whiskey-making. That mindset shines through in every release, embracing unconventional grains, a unique climate, and an adventurous spirit. This release, our first from Wyoming, was aged for 6 years in a 53-gallon barrel. It was made with 71% corn and 29% wheat. The nose bursts with oak spice, chocolate, and nutmeg. The warm, powerful palate has notes of chocolate peanut butter bar, toasted grain, and a rounded nuttiness. Delightfully refreshing.
