Lost Lantern hand-selected this cask from Painted Stave Distilling, one of the only distilleries in Delaware. Housed in a restored 1940s movie theater, Painted Stave explores both traditional and boundary-pushing whiskey styles with creativity and precision. Lost Lantern's first single pot still whiskey, this was made from 70% unmalted barley, 10% malted barley, 10% beechwood-smoked malted barley, and 10% rye. Aged for 5 years in a 30-gallon ex-rye cask, it has inviting aromas of banana bread, honey oat cereal, and white chocolate. The warm palate has notes of caramel candies, snickerdoodles, and light vanilla spice. Elegant, nuanced, and deeply expressive.
