Guitar 1 (Saturdays!)

Guitar 1 with Daniel Botula note: in deference to Derby Day, there will be no class on Saturday, May 2nd. The final day of class will be held on May 16th. Get introduced to guitar basics: melody, harmony, and rhythm in a fun, relaxed group environment. Learn the fundamentals of several genres, including pop, rock, blues, and folk, to develop a well-rounded repertoire of songs and skills. You'll be playing a song by the end of the first class. For complete beginners or those looking to refresh their basics, no prior experience is required. In this class, you will learn: Parts of the guitar How to tune your guitar Basic chords in several keys Simple strumming techniques Helpful practice tips At least 4 songs with lyrics and chords By the end of the session, you will be able to play in several keys with a steady rhythm to accompany your singing and to back up other instruments. This is an adult class open to students aged 13 and up.
