Shiva is the supreme reality, the inner Self. It is the name given to consciousness that dwells in all. Shiva is the name of your true identity- your self. Shiva is the form of God whose main responsibility is to oversee the cycle of life. He is often called the destroyer for this reason but he is also an imperative aspect of life itself. Shiva is considered to be the Soul of the Universe.
