Paperblanks Natsu Rinpa Florals Mini 3.75 x 5.5 Inch Hard cover Lined Notebook Established in 17th century Kyoto, Rinpa is famous school of Japanese painting. Many works include Hanakotoba the ancient Japanese language of flowers. Rinpa art was frequently used in the adornment of noble dwellings, particularly on sliding doors, fans hanging scrolls and traditional Kimono textiles. In collaboration with the Ashmolean Museum of Art and Archaeology at the University of Oxford, Paperblanks reproduced the original work of spring and summer flowers by artist Watanabe Shiko (1683-1755). Shiko was reportedly a samurai without a master, know as a ronin. Flower motifs are widely utilized for their meaning - expressing feelings without a single word. With their graceful and vibrant hues, the Rinpa florals will capture both your stoic ronin warrior and romantic sides of your personality.
