Legend has it that the ancestor of this rice was originally brought to Charleston in 1685 when the captain of a merchant ship paid for repairs with rice seed from Madagascar. Charleston Gold Rice is a hybrid between Carolina Gold Rice and a long-grain rice. It is well known for it's golden hue in the fields, it's floral aroma and nutty flavor. 1.5lbs.
