This material comes from western Australia, near Payne’s Find, a former gold-rush settlement. It was inadvertently discovered within chert formations by gold prospectors, who were in the area on a search at the time they found it. It displays dark, painterly strokes amidst an array of pastel colors, all encased within a deep ochre base. Somewhat reminiscent of butterfly wings. This is a rough, unpolished slab. Please observe images closely for flaws, as some degree of that is normal. Pictured wet and dry. Approximate measurements: Weight: 161 grams Height & Width: 3.2” x 3.8” at widest points Depth: 0.34” General info: Rough Rock Slabs
