This material comes from the Black Rock Desert in Utah (although it can also come from a few other locations, including Oregon and Argentina), and, like all obsidians, is a naturally-occurring glass resulting from volcanic action. The characteristic “snowflakes” are actually inclusions of cristobalite that were deposited into the volcanic lava as it was cooling. This is a rough, unpolished, end cut slab. Please observe images closely for flaws, as some degree of that is normal. Pictured wet and dry. Approximate measurements: Weight: 157 grams Height & Width: 2.78” x 2.75” at widest points Peak Depth: 1.23” General info: Rough Rock Slabs
