Unlike many depictions of flying reptiles, Pteranodon didn’t have teeth! Its name even means "toothless wing." Instead, it likely used its long, pointed beak to scoop up fish from the water while flying or wading, much like modern pelicans. Additionally, the large crest on its head may have helped with steering during flight or served as a display feature for attracting mates.
