Cab Side Chair
An icon of contemporary design, Italian architect and designer Mario Bellini's enduring Cab Side Chair features a striking form that balances function and comfort with ease. The chair was conceived as an extension of the body – a skeleton structure of tubular steel is covered by a skin of stretched leather. Showcasing his mastery of design detailing and creativity, the chair features no external bolts or permanent fastens, instead, using zippers running along the inside of the legs and beneath the seat to keep the fine leather taught. This choice serves two functional purposes: first, it makes the covers easier to remove out of convenience, but it also allows the leather to move and gradually wear into the form of the user making the chair grow more comfortable over time. Available in five distinct and refined colorways in premium hide leather, the Cab Side Chair by Cassina remains as fresh today as it did when it was introduced in 1977.
