The Axiom III’s linestage design is an evolution of the Arion MkII outputstage circuitry and is cut from the same sonic cloth as the Arion MkIIPhonostage. Utilizing a cascoded J-FET differential input stage and bipolarClass-A output stage. The Axiom III will drive any cable or load with ease. The high resolution JFET input stage was developed to interface to extremelylow signals of a MC cartridge and provide the same level of signal integrity towide dynamic range line level musical signals. The AXIOM III Linestage’s volume is controlled by a relay-based ladderconfiguration control that is controlled by a microprocessor-based controlcircuit. The advantage being that the signal path has only one high qualityresistor in the signal path at any volume setting. Volume settings areaccomplished through high quality Telecon style low-signal applicationdevices, eliminating the sliding wipers and resistive films used in rotaryvolume controls.
