However, overcoming these difficult situations has led to significant personal growth. In November 2023, we were arrested in Scurry County, in a city called Snyder, Texas, for possession of substances (specifically, a couple of vape pens, nothing harmful). The officers who took us to jail treated us strangely, and the situation felt scarier than it should have been, especially because we didn’t look like them. We felt misjudged from the moment we were pulled over, supposedly for not having a working center light (which is not a requirement, as all our other lights were working).
