Rose Quartz Heart Bowl #01
625g / 1.378lbs / 22.05oz 4.00" x 3.76" x 1.70" Rose Quartz is a member of the Quartz family, a silicon dioxide crystal with a hardness of 7. Its crystal system is hexagonal (trigonal). It usually occurs in massive form but sometimes grows in clusters of small prismatic crystals. Its name is derived from its color, which ranges from very pale pink to deep reddish pink. Its clarity can range from opaque to translucent to transparent, although most transparent pieces are rather foggy. In some specimens, traces of Rutile within the stone cause six-rayed stars in cabochons or spheres. You will often see rose quartz with white lines – those are healed fractures rich in fluid inclusions. Depending on the trace amounts of impurities it contains, quartz may look colorless (no impurities), light pink (titanium, iron, or manganese), milky white (tiny bubbles of gas or liquid), purple (iron), yellow (iron), or brown (extra silicon). Rose Quartz is found in Brazil, Madagascar, and in the USA. Ros
