Roan on Fire is composed differently from most of my work.  Instead of centering a single story, it is fueled from the intersection of three ideas that inspire me: the Year of the Fire Horse, the unapologetic energy carried by artists like Chapel Roan, and the spark that becomes a catalyst for collective change like Katniss Everden in the Hunger Games.  Each material was chosen to carry their presence within the scent story. Chappell Roan’s bold presence inspired the use of fenugreek CO₂, red maple, and benzoin. Fenugreek is known for its maple-like sweetness (something Chappell herself has spoken about) while benzoin references resins burned in church chapels. Ka
