'Put on a Happy Face' is a literal take on the societal need to have people functioning and 'fine' no matter what stresses and expectations pile upon each other, and the need to present a certain ‘acceptable’ front, in terms of both acting and looking a particular way. It’s about the masks we wear every day to cope, to be accepted, and to survive.
