The woman in the blue coat is Lina, my wife, who graciously participated in this series when I was first experimenting with calibrating my camera and lens to reflect a painterly technique I was striving to create. I have a million words to write about Lina. Love is the first one, which struck me like a bolt the moment I first laid eyes on her—true story. All the other words are written in this photograph for you to decipher, or to project, dear viewer. Even now, I see our current life in her expression in this portrait.  The color palette was inspired by a portrait of a flower with sunset hues I once took, similar to the tones here. I’ll have to find it and place it alongside this piece.
