Whatever dude from the turn of the century who needed a beast like this will make anyone pause. The ornate carving of the dog with those "Jaws" eyes setting behind the wrinkles will draw them in or send them running for the hills. And that snout ready to snort.  Then you slowly draw out the slender sword, and you'll have everyone's attention. Do not zig when you should zag with this old fella. The casing made of leather wrapped in wire puts you straight at the crossroads. A gnarly, gnarly and epic piece of folk art.  The unusual antique swagger stick comes out of an old Iowa estate. It was likely made in the late 1800s or early 1900s. It's very possible the piece is military related.  The folk art swagger stick measures just over 18" long. The sword measures about 13" long.
