20s 30s Vintage Sock Garters Elastic Copper Metal Paris VFG
Sock garters have a long tradition in menswear. They were nearly ubiquitous in the early part of the 20th century, when these date to - socks at that time generally lacked elasticity and slid down the leg quickly and easily. But there are modern men who don't want to show bare leg - or saggy socks - between their shoe and pantleg. For them, the sock garter is a great solution. MATERIALS: Dark brown elastic, olive gray satin clip holder, coppery metal adjusters and clips - those have embossing and deco lettering. SIZE: 7/8" wide. With sliders as currently set, circumference is 10" at rest and 14" stretched. There is another 3.5" if you take them to maximum circumference. LABEL: Paris, Made in U.S.A. CONDITION: There are no obvious signs of wear - elastic is sturdy and unsnagged, satiny clip holder is unmarred except for a dark green patina that has developed at the base of the clip - see closeup.
