Kaku Farm sits in the Menglian region of southwest Yunnan, China, and is run by second-generation farmer Mr. Li. Known for his dedication and resilience, Mr. Li has helped the farm thrive through market changes and even the devastating frost of 1998. The farm supports the local community by helping families with education and medical needs. Harvest runs from November to February, producing about 20 tons each year. The washed coffees are pulped, dry-fermented for 18 hours, and dried on patios for around 10 days. Cherries are handpicked by members of the Wa, Akha, Dai, and Lahu tribes, with operations managed by the Han people. We're stoked to be serving this as our first coffee from China!
