Brooklyn Mistral Ethan CornellOil and wax on found board 24 x 36 Inches 2016   Ethan Cornell is an artist living and working in Brooklyn, New York. He received his education at the High School of Art and Design, NYC and the Parsons School of Design. Since graduation he has studied also at the Scuola Internazionale di Grafica in Venice and received a fellowship from the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation. He works professionally as an artist, graphic artist, illustrator, and teacher. Drawing is the core of his artistic practice, the base of his work in painting, sculpture, video, graphic and digital arts. The central aspects of his work are fictional narrative and working from life: one an act of invention, the other observation of the real. Much of his recent work is concerned with both the epistemology and constitution of things.
