Alocasia or elephant ear has large rhizomes or tubers that produce enormous heart-shaped or arrow-shaped ears. Plants will vary. We will do our best to ensure the plant ordered matches the image of the Plant. LIGHT: bright indirect light.Can tolerate low indirect light. Not suited for intense, direct sun. WATER: Water every 1-2 weeks. Allow soil to dry out between waterings. Increase frequency with increased light. Keep Alocasia plants moist all year; they are water-loving plants. You want to keep the soil moist, but not soggy. They require less water during the winter months because the plant is dormant. Allow the top few inches of soil to become nearly dry before watering. This will help keep the soil evenly moist. Soggy soil makes the plant susceptible to fungal infections.
