Micro Swiss NG™ Direct Drive Extruder for Creality CR-10 / Ender 3 Printers
Upgrade the capabilities of your Creality CR-10 or Ender 3 3D printer with the newest version of Micro Swiss' direct-drive extruder and all metal Hotend, and make printing high-temperature and flexible materials a breeze! The Creality CR-10 and Ender 3 series printers come from the factory with a "Bowden-style" extruder that mounts the motor on the frame and pushes the filament through a PTFE (teflon) tube. Many users prefer to upgrade to a "direct-drive" extruder that mounts the motor directly over the hotend. This arrangement often results in greater extrusion accuracy, reduced retraction settings, and the shorter, highly-constrained filament path works much better for printing very flexible filaments like TPU/TPE. The factory hotend design on these 3D printers also locates the PTFE tube in the melt zone of the hotend, where it butts up right against the nozzle. This limits the maximum temperature the nozzle can be used at, as PTFE will deform/shrink and break down around 250-260°
