Wing and opal earrings in sterling silver

The flashing in opals really are reminiscent of the thought of rebirth to me. Every angle shows you new colors and a new perspective.I used these gorgeous ceramic drops by Scorched Earth that remind me of butterfly wings. The colors in them just screamed opal to me. I created clusters with clear Ethiopian opals and also faceted black Ethiopian opals. The center opal is a large 6 x 3.3mm faceted opal. The way they sparkle…. And to add a little extra interest, I used a fine sterling silver chain and some 2mm swarovski crystal bicones to create a moving element that is also fun to fidget with.These earrings are sterling silver with 20 gauge earwires. Each earring is about 2 ½” long and weighs 4.85 grams.
