These Porcelain and Pearls Short Drop Earrings are the perfect accessory for any occasion: dressing up daily wear, wearing as part of a bridal party, or going out on the town!Hand-crafted with polished porcelain rings and AA-grade cultured freshwater pearls, these earrings are elegant and versatile. With an easy sophistication, you'll be able to make a statement no matter where you go. Approximate length from top of hook: 2 1/4" White or hand-dyed black porcelain, AA-grade cultured freshwater pearls, titanium hooks, 925 Sterling chain and findings. Cultured pearls are organic treasures from Mother Nature.  Any surface irregularities and shape discrepancies are "features," not "flaws."  Think of them as birthmarks that show you each pearl is unique.  These make your jewelry one-of-a-kind and awesome - like you!      The porcelain "frames" are formed and drilled by hand before being fired in a kiln for the first time to the "bisque" stage.  As bisque, the clay is still fragile, but is now a bit more durable and won't dissolve if I get it wet.  I sand away any initial rough spots before firing them to around 2200*F.  The kiln can take a couple of days to go from room temperature to 2200*F and back to room temperature.  Then I give them a final sanding and polishing and they are ready for me to combine them with the cultured freshwater pearls and metal components, package them up, and send them out into the world.  It's a lengthy process, full of love, and closely supurrvised by Sage Catling, my Studio Supurrvisor Extraordinaire!
