There is a place.

This 48" x 36" acrylic painting on canvas is wired and ready to hang. It is part of the series, The Gift of Practice. Like a bird that suddenly flies onto my windowsill, the moment happens when I allow intuition to take the lead and colors and shapes appear as surprise visitors. In truth these moments cannot happen without the discipline of regular practice. I must continue to paint when it seems like nothing interesting is happening. In this series, The Gift of Practice, I am exploring the dance between discipline and playfulness. I hope the viewer will sense the gifts of mystery and freedom I experience as I paint.
