When he took his tea to a local tea merchant, the merchant praised him for the outstanding quality of his tea and paid him TWICE the price of his usual tea! In the late 19th century, 15kg of Oriental Beauty cost was equivalent to a house in Taiwan. Because tea makers can only make this high-quality, white tip oolong (also called bai hao, champagne oolong) when the leaf hopper populations are high enough and when the weather conditions are suitable, our Oriental Beauty is handmade in small batches with limited quantities available.
