Overall Measurements: 64"W x 46"H.   If the romance of the sea lures you, you'll find this mantel design intriguing in its old world, aquatic design elements.  A luminous, soft white statuary marble with beige undertones showcases the beauty of the carving and stone.  The center keystone features a scalloped shell with radiating ridges which fan out from the hinge.  The clamshell has symbolized beauty and femininity since the goddess of Venus and the Victorians coveted this motif.  The carved spandrels mimic a ripple effect of circles, like a stone skipped across the water.  The mantel is completed with a restored cast iron set, featuring delicate flourishes on the surround and an ornamented filigree cover.
