C. 1872, Washington, DC. Measurements: 60"W x 45"H.  Original to one of the nine Italianate homes once located between 2014 and 2030 G Street which housed the most prominent high ranking military leaders of the time.  The space is now home to the George Washington University Campus in Foggy Bottom.  The Wilson mantel is refined in its smooth texture and classic design.  The marble is a soft ivory-beige with some slight texture.  A gently-curving serpentine shelf culminates in the center with a classic cartouche.  Paired with a period correct, restored cast iron surround and summer cover.
