On rare occasions that maple is in short supply, birch ply may be substituted. All plywood is formaldehyde-free regardless of wood type.   Icons to mark special landmarks can be added.    All roadways are three-dimensional and adhered to the base ply layer.  Text is laser-engraved and appears dark brown or black.   Water color comes in the stain color or your choice.  The frames are made of poplar wood and come in three color choices: walnut, black, or natural. The entire piece is sealed with polyurethane. It is NOT recommended that you hang your wooden map art outdoors. Product Specifications: Maple plywood base is ¼ inch thick.
