Acer palmatum 'Mayday' Dwarf Japanese Maple

Acer palmatum 'Mayday' is one of the most sought after Japanese Maples currently on the market. 'Mayday' is a Mikawa yatsabusa variant with bright yellow color in the spring. Throughout the summer this yellow turns to a light green and can sometimes show subtle variegation. 'Mayday' grows just like Mikawa yatsabusa with short nodes and bunched up buds creating a shingled leaf effect. 'Mayday' is a slower grower than Mikawa yatsabusa and will only reach a few feet tall at maturity.
