The forged steel wheel is made from ASTM 1045 high carbon steel that is hot drop forged. It offers the maximum weight capacity, impact strength, and durability of all caster wheels. For a metal wheel with similar capacities and durability, but is more economical, check out our ductile steel wheel casters. While forged steel is incredibly resilient, it is the harshest wheel type for floors and could lead to floor damage. It has 1/2" thick steel legs that are double welded and have a support brace welded down the side.
